The event took place at the Reflections restaurant on the college campus and saw Robert Taylor, the highly-regarded chef who works for Mr Cooper’s House & Garden, giving the students the benefit of his experience.
Those who attended on the night were provided with a range of meals to choose from, including lamb rump, Loch Duart salmon and crispy pig’s cheek. Kendal mint cake brownies served with vanilla ice cream and hot chocolate mousse were on offer for dessert.
The evening allowed the students to discover new techniques for cooking and preparation from Taylor, who has been employed by Mr Cooper’s as its head chef for around a year now. Speaking to a reporter from FE News, he stated that:
“It’s a great experience for them as running a prestigious restaurant in the real world is very different from being at college but working alongside us gives them a better idea of what it’s really like.”
