New restaurants to make Ashton-under-Lyne entrance

Five Guys, the giant American fast food chain, is set to open a second restaurant in the Manchester area, with this one being located at Ashton-under-Lyne.

The chain of retro-themed American-style diners will be joined by Italian restaurants Bella Italia and Prezzo, both of which have also purchased space at Ashton Leisure Park.

Approximately 120 jobs are expected to be created once the new eateries launch, and it is also sure to be a boost to the area’s economy – as those involved in industries like flyer printing in Ashton-under-Lyne will be needed to promote the outlets when they open.

There are already five restaurants in the leisure park – including a Nando’s and Harvester pub – but Five Guys and the two Italian restaurants will be situated within a brand new terrace area of the park.

Legal and General Property is the driving force behind the new development and its senior fund manager, Craig Westmacott, said:

“We look forward to completing the development of three exciting new restaurant units at Ashton Leisure Park.

“Bella Italia, Prezzo and Five Guys are all established restaurateurs which will complement and extend the family-orientated eating options on offer at this popular leisure park.”

Five Guys, which already has a branch at the intu Trafford Centre, has become famous for its double burgers as well as the 250,000 free customised toppings it offers diners.

The restaurants are due to open in late spring of this year.
