Ashton youngster has Premier League clubs clamouring

A youngster from Ashton-under-Lyne who possesses precocious football talent is catching the attentions of Premier League sides, including Manchester City and Manchester United.

Lewis Towns is only five years old but

has already been offered the chance to train with the academies for both of the Manchester clubs, after their scouts were astounded by his ability.

In addition to this, he is also on the radar of two other clubs in the league – Everton and Liverpool – marking an astonishing situation for someone of such tender years.

Having started out playing in his own back garden, taking part in kickabouts with his father, Lewis then went on to attend a group called ‘soccer tots’ when he was 18 months old.

However, it was his performances for Elite Soccer, a side managed by John Fenton – who also works for Manchester City as a scout – that really saw interest in him take off.

The club invited him to youth training sessions when he was three, and he also spent time with Everton and Liverpool. His builder dad, Adrian, told the Manchester Evening News that the whole family was thrilled:

“Being with someone everyday it’s sometimes hard to see what’s under your nose and we’ve been a bit flabbergasted by all the interest in him.”
