What's Happening in Ashton-under-Lyne, England…

Ashton-under-Lyne to enjoy Agatha Christie thriller

The stage play of Agatha Christie's 'A Murder is Announced', presented by Concord Theatricals, is due to receive a series of performances near Ashton-under-Lyne at the end of July and the beginning of August.

In the play, the announcement of a murder appears in the local paper, stating the exact time and naming Miss Blacklock's Victorian house, 'Little Paddock 22’ as the location. This ominous declaration sets the scene for a story of suspense in which Miss Blacklock herself is not the intended victim, nor any of her housemates, but instead an unknown surprise visitor.

It is a tale of murder mystery by Agatha Christie that involves intrigue, diverse motives and hidden identities. Another murder also takes place, and the plot intensifies, while the police inspector continues his investigation - determined to unravel the complexities of the case.

Just as the tension is rising, Miss Marple enters the fray, with her deep insights and detailed observations to help solve the mystery.

This amateur production is directed by John Cocks-Evans from an adaptation by Leslie Darbon, featuring an ensemble cast.

Tickets range in price from £9.00 to £11.00. Graphic design can play an important role in the staging of a theatrical production.

Agatha Christie's 'A Murder is Announced' will run from Monday, 28 July to Saturday, 2 August at the Guide Bridge Theatre near Ashton-under-Lyne.
