Ashton-under-Lyne firm sees profits grow

Scapa, a manufacturer of adhesive products based in Ashton-under-Lyne, has announced an increase of close to one quarter in its profits.

Managing to hit the £13.7m mark, this figure is the pre-tax profit for the financial year that ended on March 31st, 2015. It represents a 22% year-on-year increase, with revenues for the company also enjoying a rise of 4% during this period.

Overall, Scapa’s revenues for the financial year were £236m, with the company confirming that all of its market segments and geographical areas had grown throughout that time. The firm consolidated its facilities in France during the last financial year, as well as beginning discussions with its staff over the possible closure of its facility in Switzerland, as it sought to further maximise its manufacturing footprint.
