Tameside Council is aiming to turn this square into a place that is vibrant and modern and sought a type of stone for the re-paving that would fit with the town’s overall character and look, while also reinvigorating the square.
The chosen stone is Italian Porphyry, which comes in 10 different colours – all of which will feature within the new paving. This type of stone was chosen for its beauty, but also for the fact that it is skid and frost resistant and hard wearing, making it ideal for an area that is used by a considerable number of people.
Charcon’s Category Manager, Mike Davies, told Specification Online that:
“We were delighted to not only supply Tameside Council with the volume of Italian Porphyry natural stone required, in the full range of hues, but also to support them with design and delivery.”
New lights and street furniture, a section for performances, trees and landscaped gardens, and several kiosks and stalls will be added as part of the project.
Those running stalls in the new market will always be able to rely on places offering promotional items if they need help advertising their wares.Get a Free Quote for Plans
