Ashton-under-Lyne firm appoints new chief executive

A burgeoning company based in Ashton-under-Lyne has announced that it will be bringing in a new man to serve as chief executive.

Revolution Bars Group runs both the Revolucion de Cuba rum bar and the Revolution vodka bar, which have become central to local nightlife. Now the Ashton-based firm has recruited Rob Pitcher as its chief executive and he will bring over a quarter of a century’s worth of hospitality sector experience to the role.

Among the previous jobs he has held within the industry are senior roles with Scottish & Newcastle Retail, Spirit, Laurel, Town & City, Stonegate and Bramwell – as well as being the restaurants divisional director for Mitchells & Butlers.

The latter was the position Pitcher held prior to taking up this job with Revolution Bars Group, which will see acting chief executive Keith Edelman return to the role of non-executive chairman. Speaking to a reporter from Insider Media, Edelman stated that:

“Rob Pitcher’s proven operational experience and leadership qualities with considerably bigger companies will enhance the ongoing development of the Revolution and Revolucion de Cuba brands. The board looks forward to working with him.”
