While some people like to stay under the duvet during winter months, others see now as a time to get outdoors and savor the activities that present themselves. The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association has the perfect event for those who love to spend their winter days outside.
Winterfest, which is to become an annual event in Windsor, will feature lots of outdoor fun for the entire family. It will feature a parade with floats, marching bands, elves, holiday balloon characters, and, of course, Santa Claus, as the parade travels from Quellette and Giles to Pitt. In addition, there will be ice sculptures and sculpting demonstrations, carolers, free horse-drawn carriage rides, lighting displays, wine tastings, hot chocolate, roasted chestnuts, and arts and crafts.
Area stores will also be open for business, all adding up to what promises to be a great family-friendly way to celebrate winter and the coming Christmas holiday, as well as a way to finish off some last minute gift buying.
Sponsorships are also available for $500 to $10,000 and sponsors will be recognized in all promotional advertising. It is likely that Windsor printing companies will be helping by providing services such as poster and flyer printing. Flyers can be sent out to everyone in the city and Posters can be displayed at many public buildings close to the area.
