The anniversary event, called the Ruby Gala, will be a formal event open to all community members. There will be entertainment drawing from South Asian culture, including wedding celebrations, music, and dance. Visitors will enjoy a feast with a variety of culinary styles represented.
Festivities will include a speech from local entrepreneur and Professor of Business Anita Agrawal, who is the CEO of Jewels 4 Ever. The club decor will represent South Asian culture with vibrant colours. Gala events like this often use methods like banner printing and speeches to recognize sponsors, volunteers, and other contributors from the community.
The gala will also feature a silent auction with items donated from the community such as event tickets, gift baskets, and home decor items. Proceeds will go towards women’s charities and causes in the Windsor-Essex region. Advertising for the event emphasizes the organization’s history and purpose of helping newcomers and celebrating cultural heritage:
“This Ruby Gala is an opportunity to reflect on our journey, recognize those who have supported our mission, and celebrate the future together.”
The South Asian Centre of Windsor’s 40th Anniversary Ruby Gala will take place at the Giovanni Caboto Club on October 3.
