Home horticulturalists know there can be many paths that lead to a great garden, and one of these will be explored during an upcoming Windsor workshop.
Ground Culture will welcome local green thumbs for an event that will introduce the hügelkultur technique, which is a way of constructing raised beds using natural materials, such as leaves and logs. It has been utilized for centuries to grow both food and flowers, and it can be used in many types of locations.
During the Hügelkultur Workshop, the attendees will find out how they can construct their own hügelkultur garden, and they will also find out why it can be a good choice for the home gardener. There will be a hands-on portion to the activity, and the group will prepare one of these plantings using material provided. All levels of experience and ability are welcome.
As more people discover the joys of raising and harvesting their own food, events like this are becoming especially popular. Growing guides and other learning materials may be sourced for these types of function from local Print shops.
Ground Culture has made plans to offer this hands-on educational event on September 11th. The venue for the day will be situated at 252 West Pike Creek Road in Windsor, and the workshop will kick off at 2:00 pm.
