Windsor tree plant to enhance the citys green side

Trees can help to keep a city’s air clean while providing a touch of nature and beauty to its landscape, and the public’s assistance is being sought for an event that will seek to help keep Windsor’s urban forest growing strong.

Forests Ontario and an assortment of planting partners have organized this year’s Community Tree Plant, and they have put out a call to public to lend a hand. All ages are welcome, and people are encouraged to gather their friends and family together to take part.

The participants in the work will have the shovels, gloves and trees supplied to them, and free refreshments will also be on offer. As the work will take place rain or shine, the planters are reminded to dress for the weather. Any high school students who choose to get involved will earn volunteer hours, and the session is set to begin at 10;00 am and run until 12:00 noon.

While all offers of help will be appreciated, only a limited number of spaces are available. Anyone who want to be involved is asked to register well ahead of time. Printing services for this type of occasion can be supplied by a local professional printing company.

This tree planting experience will be making Windsor’s Tranby Park a little bit greener, and will be held on Saturday, May 5. Anyone who would like to find out more or register to participate is asked to visit its online listing.
