The very first Hockey for Hospice took place in Windsor 26 years ago, and this annual fundraiser has been given the green light to go ahead as planned in 2022.
The latter part of December will see this annual tournament make its return to a selection of local arenas that will be announced at a later date. The charity of choice will be The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, Inc., and it is for youth players.
The three-day-long tourney will welcome players from the ages of 4 to 14, and each of the individual players will raise money by seeking pledges from friends and family. Throughout the run of this program, it has been able to raise more than $4.1 million for the various initiatives the hospice offers. The tournament is intended to be fun for all the kids who participate, and they will also learn a lesson about the value of giving back to their community.
Medals and other awards are often presented during sporting events like this. Printing services can craft such customized awards.
The 2022 Hockey for Hospice tournament will be hitting local rinks from December 27th to December 29th. Anyone who would like to register a team, sponsor the event or simply find out more information is asked to visit the hospice’s website.
