Like many cities in Canada, Windsor has found that a large number of its skilled employees head out west to find employment – and one group has now decided to do something about it.
The city’s Windsor Essex Economic Development Corporation recently held a job fair at Caesar’s Windsor, and aimed to match employers with skilled job-seeking individuals.
According to the Development Corporation’s CEO, there has been a lot of talk in the past about hosting a fair like this, and the organization decided it was time to do something about it.
It began promoting the event back in October, using a clever advertising campaign aimed at those in their 30s who were deciding between staying in Windsor or moving out west for work. It was also hoped that it would appeal to those who have already left, but may want to come back to their home town, as well as university graduates.
Some of the positions being offered included industrial electricians, mechanical designers, robotic technicians, and pipefitters.
The Development Corporation is hoping that in the future, it will be able to host this type of event out west and recruit right where the people are.
A poster printing company can help to advertise an event like this, and can also create promotional materials for use at the companies’ booths. This can help to get the word out before the event, and also while it is happening.
