Summer is rapidly approaching and so is Summerfest. The event will be held on the waterfront in Windsor, Ontario between June 15 and July 4.

Last year’s Summerfest drew over 500,000 to Windsor, and as many, if not more, are expected to attend this year. Most of the events are free to attend but tickets must be purchased for various musical performances by people such as Serena Ryder, the Windsor Symphony and the group The Trews.
There will be something at Summerfest to appeal to everyone in the family. One of the most popular parts of the festival is the midway featuring thrill rides and games. In addition there will be an FMX Thrill Ride show, the 34th annual International Tug Boat Race, Buskers on the Midway and a shore party.
The 53rd annual Target International Fireworks show will take place at Summerfest at 10pm on June 27th; it will light up the waterfront over Windsor. Those who want to get the best view of the fireworks can purchase tickets to the Riverfront Fireworks Party; tickets are $100 and include a wine tasting, dinner and a cash bar.
Summerfest will also feature a huge Canada Day celebration on July 1st. It will be Canada’s 144th birthday and the celebrations of this day will include a parade, a pancake breakfast, and a huge Canada Day cake.
