New parking service to start at Windsor Hospital

Windsor Regional Hospital recently made an announcement that a brand new service will soon be available to those coming to use its facilities.

The hospital’s Met campus will be offering valet parking and the service will be run by Rafih Auto Group. When a car pulls up to the door and requests the service, a Rafih employee will take their keys and drive their car to the parking lot for them. When they are ready to go, all they have to do is wait for a moment to have their vehicle brought back.

The current fees to use the lot are $7 per day, and while the price for the valet parking has not yet been set, the plan is for it to not be that much more than the regular cost. The service is not intended to make money; rather, it’s meant to provide what people have been asking for without taking funds away from the hospital.

The program will get off the ground with a $20,000 donation, which was raised by a golf tournament hosted by Rafih Auto Group.

The new system will only be available at the Met lot, but if there is a demand for it, it could be established at the Ouellette lot as well.

This new choice in parking will provide an alternative for those who find the walk from the lot to the hospital to be too far. A Print company will be able to provide valet tickets for those who choose to use the service.
