Caesars Windsor recently played host to a convention of comic book anime and sci-fi fans from all over the surrounding area and even further afield.
ComiCon, which features a variety of displays, contests, presentations and other events, attracted enthusiasts, artists and comic book lovers, many of whom came decked out in full costume, or "cosplay", dressed as their favorite characters.
Those who came out had a chance to meet, and get autographs from, their favorite film, television and voice actors and animation illustrators, and to attend question and answer sessions with a variety of celebrities. There were also photos sessions with different pop culture personalities, and an opportunity for fans to have their picture taken sitting in the 1966 model of the Batmobile. Vendors had displays of comic Books, graphic novels, T-Shirts, and other clothing and artwork for sale.
The cosplay contest gave those who took part a chance to show off their creative efforts. They took to the stage in separate adult and kid’s groupings with prizes offered for several different categories. The event ran on both the 15th and 16th of August, and was well attended.
