Whitby workshop to explore wills and Power of Attorneys

Having a will and Power of Attorney (POA) documents prepared can give a person great peace of mind, and the Whitby Public Library wants to help make sure everyone in the community can understand and craft these documents.

The two-part webinar series entitled “Power of Attorney and Last Will and Testament” will explore the difference between these documents and what makes them so important. Anyone who is at least 18 years old is encouraged to register, and the sessions will take place one week apart.

These virtual learning activities will discuss the purposes of a POA and how they can be prepared. The participants will find out how they can ensure their final wishes will be respected, and the implications of not having a will are also to be discussed. When an individual Signs up, they will be registering for both workshops, and instructions will be emailed to the attendees ahead of time.

Mailing out kits that contain learning materials, promotional Pens and other items will make it easier for the participants in an activity like this to absorb information. These can be ordered from area Print shops.

The first session in this series being offered by the Whitby Public Library has been scheduled for the evening of March 18th. The second will take place on March 25th.
