Whitby takes one of the top spots

People who live in Whitby already know that it is a great place to live, but now they have actual proof of their conviction.

In a recent article in Money Sense magazine, 201 Canadian cities of varying sizes were ranked according to a variety of factors. These included ease of commuting, demographics, wealth, housing, weather, tax rates, access to health care, amenities and culture. Based upon these, Whitby stood out form the crowd.

The city earned a rank of 10th amongst those with populations between 100,000 to 400,000, and 27th overall. Among cities in the Durham region, it came in 1st.

According to the mayor, it offers something for everyone, whether they enjoy a rural, urban or even a lakeside lifestyle. There are many different places to shop, dine out or spend time connecting with nature in one of its many green spaces or waterside retreats.

It also has plenty of amenities, leisure and sporting activities for everyone, no matter what their age. In fact, it is one of the few cities in Ontario to have earned the status of a Platinum Youth community.

The city’s ranking is welcome news, as it makes Whitby a very attractive place for people to live and businesses to thrive. The resulting growth provides new opportunities for firms that offer supplies such digital business cards, and other items necessary to operate a company in today’s digital world.
