Whitby will soon be hosting its annual Heritage Day, and according to its organizers, it will be bigger and better than ever before.
The event will bring people, businesses and visitors together, and there will be plenty to see and do for people of any age. There will be costumed reenactors who will bring history to life, as well as block parties and barbeques, a farmers’ market, and live musical entertainment.
The day will also see the launch of the community’s new Talking Historical Plaques, which will be set up in the Vintage Whitby booth. Pop-up Banners can be prepared by a local printer, and since they can be reused year after year, they can help to make the budget stretch a long way for any event like this.
There will be lots to do for the kids as well as the adults. They can enjoy pony rides, face painting, a petting zoo, balloons, games, and horse-drawn wagon rides. There will be other activities organized as well, and there is no charge to attend. Those who plan on doing so are welcome to bring along their four-legged friends, so long as they are leashed and under control at all times.
Whitby will be hosting its Annual Heritage Day celebration on September 30 in the community’s downtown core. Everyone is welcome, and addition information about the day can be found on the Whitby website.
