Whitby residents to help those in need

A community service project that will support Feed the Need in Durham is set to be hosted by the Whitby Chamber of Commerce, and it is hoping the public will show a lot of support.

The chamber’s Young Entrepreneurs and Professionals (YEP) committee has scheduled a collection drive, and it has been organized so that it will be easy to make a contactless donation. A drop off point will be set up, and all support is welcome.

The YEP has worked with Feed the Need in Durham to compile a list of items that are in high demand, and these include tinned and bottled fruits and vegetables, canned proteins, such as salmon and tuna, healthy snacks and food that can be eaten for breakfast. Toiletries and personal hygiene items are also requested, and they will all be collected and then distributed to those in need in the community.

Poster printing is one of the ways an organization can advertise this sort of fundraising activity to the community.

The drop-off point for the Drive-Through Food Drive will be situated in the parking lot behind the chamber’s offices, which is located at 150 Colborne Street East. It will be open for donations from 10am until 12pm on April 10th. More details can be found on its listing on the chamber's website.
