Barbecue lovers are invited to come and taste the best the area has to offer at the 2016 Whitby Ribfest.
This family event, which is hosted by the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise and sponsored by a wide assortment of local businesses and organizations, combines food and fun with fundraising, as the money raised will be used to help support not-for-profit groups throughout the community.
Local chefs will be vying for a variety of titles, including Best Sauce and Best Ribs, and both Judge’s Choice and People’s choice categories will be up for grabs. Those who really want to indulge are welcome to sign up for the rib eating contest. There will be plenty of food to try during the event, including choices for vegans and vegetarians. Custom Drinkware, such as glasses and cups, can be ordered for this type of community event.
In addition to the cooking and edibles, there will be games and fun for the kids, live music, and contests. A friendly tug of war between Whitby emergency services and local Military Services will take place to help raise awareness of the Wounded Warriors program.
