Whitby is well known for the beauty of its gardens, and this summer, locals will have an opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at how they were designed, planted and are being maintained.
Those who participate in the ‘Whitby in Bloom’ garden tour will be offered access to 10 local gardens, where they can admire and be inspired by the ideas used to create them. Some of the locations on the tour will be providing something extra, such as a scavenger hunt, live entertainment and even a chance to have wild chickadees eat out of their hand.
During visits from the public, many of the properties that are included in the event will have experts on hand who can answer any questions their guests may have. As they walk through each location, those who take the tour are reminded to look for the antiques and other design elements that are included in the entries’ gardens.
This opportunity to get a sneak peek into local gardens will take place on July 15, and it will begin at 10:00 am. There will be no fee charged to participate, but everyone who does is asked to bring along a nonperishable food item to donate to the local food bank. A booklet printing company in the local area can provide printed guides to each of the places on a tour such as this.
This day that will celebrate the beauty of the local landscape has been planned for July 15, and further information about the event and the gardens that will be included can be found on its website.
