Whitby and Brooklin are known for having some of the province’s most beautiful gardens, and a selection of these properties will be offering a sneak peek behind the garden gate.
Local gardeners who work hard throughout the year to create a landscape they can be proud of are invited to apply to become a stop on this year’s Whitby in Bloom Garden Tour. This event will take place in various sites throughout the area, and it can be a great way for green thumbs to get some inspiration.
Property owners who would like to become a stop on the tour are invited to submit their application now. These will be collected and reviewed by members of the Whitby in Bloom committee, and the applicant will then be contacted directly once they have made their decision. The potential participant will need to include a photo of their pride and joy when they apply.
A program like this not only gives local gardeners a chance to show off the fruits of their labours, it also encourages the general public to get growing. Maps of the various stops on the tour can be printed by area Print shops for the occasion, and these can be given to each person when they check in for the day.
