Levees are a New Year's Day tradition in many Canadian communities, and the Whitby area will be hosting one of these informal events.
The Mayor and Council of Pickering will be welcoming one and all for an afternoon of outdoor activities that will help to get 2022 off to a festive start. The area's artistic community will be adding their talents to the occasion, and it is free to join in with the celebration.
The plans for the two-hour long function include family friendly entertainment, such as stilt walkers from INCIRQUE. There will be games to play, as well as complimentary chocolate, and everyone will be treated to Tiny Tom donuts. All are welcome, and those who plan on attending the function are asked to register ahead of time.
While everyone is encouraged to have a great time at the levee, they are asked to keep in mind that not everyone is so fortunate. Donations to the St. Paul’s on the Hill food pantry will be collected on site. A poster printing company can help an activity like this meet its fundraising goals by marketing it throughout the community.
