As a province “on the grow”, Ontario’s construction and other industries generate many cubic meters of soil. This is transported using a variety of methods, and the management of this excess soil will be the main topic of discussion at a Whitby area symposium.
According to the organizers of this year’s Ontario Excess Soil Symposium, the management of this resource is important from both an economic and environmental perspective. A variety of industry experts will be joining with the Canadian Urban Institute to create an event that will be all about sharing information and best practices when it comes to soil.
Along with a review of the current practices when it comes to soil management, the attendees at the conference will have an opportunity to learn about the regulations that have been proposed by the province. The learning will include case studies as well as lessons that have been learned from current and past initiatives, and a full roster of speakers is set to address the group.
