Whitby area event to celebrate peonies

Originally cultivated in ancient China for their medicinal properties, peonies now come in a wide assortment of Forms and colours, and a Whitby festival will pay homage to this well-loved garden plant this summer.

The Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens has set aside two days for its Peony Festival, an award-winning activity that attracts lots of plant lovers. While the flowers will be the main focus, there will be lots more to see, and it is expected that thousands will drop by to enjoy the fun across the two days.

Along with peony exhibits, garden tours and other activities, the attendees will be treated to an artisan and vendor market filled with handmade and other items, and food will be on offer as well. Community displays, a peony competition, demonstrations and live performances are all on the agenda too, and both art and photography contests have been planned. There will be fun for the kids on offer, and a full agenda will be provided closer to its scheduled date.

A horticulturally themed event may get a lot of attention from members of the public interested in plants and gardening. Corporate Gifts to present as prizes to the competition winners in such an event can be crafted by local printers.

The Peony Festival will be held on June 8th and 9th at the Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens. Both days will kick off at 10:00 am.
