Town of Whitby set to light up the holiday sky
Whitby has issued an invitation to all of its residents to come to a special invitation that will mark the start of its holiday season.
The community’s Celebration Square will be the site for its annual tree lighting ceremony. To mark the occasion, families are encouraged to join in the fun by singing carols and enjoying the other entertainment that will be provided. Local organizations will set up and man crafting stations for the kids, and Santa himself will be on hand for photos and to hear the children’s special wishes. Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided courtesy of Presse Café, and many more activities have been planned for the evening. A printer’s wide format printing technology can be put to use in creating Banners and other decorations for an event such as this.
As part of the town’s effort to ensure everyone has a happy holiday season, the evening will also kick of the OWASCO Volkswagen dealership’s Stuff A Bug toy drive. People are encouraged to bring along a new toy that will be passed along to a child, which can help to ensure that everyone in town has a reason to smile.
The tree lighting will be held on December 2nd from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in Celebration Square. All are welcome, and more information is available on the town's website.
