Gardening is a hobby enjoyed by many in Whitby, and an event that will soon be taking place will see members of the community who have a green thumb coming together to share and swap seeds, plants and more.
The town’s Horticultural Section has organized the event, and all gardeners, whether they are experts or just getting started, are welcome. Those who come out are highly encouraged to bring along any extra seeds or plants that they have harvested from their garden or home to share with others. There will also be a selection of plants that were grown in the town’s own gardens, and these will be available, starting at 10:00 am, on a first come, first served basis.
Those who attend the seed and plant exchange will also have an opportunity to ask questions and receive advice from the town’s team of horticulturalists. They will also have a chance to meet others who share their interest, and make new gardening friends. Reusable pop-up Banners can be both designed and produced by an area Print company for a function like this.
Anyone who is interested in participating in the Seed Day and Plant Exchange are asked to head to Rotary Centennial Park, which is located on Brock Street South, on October 14. The event will begin at 10:00 am, and additional details can be found on the Town of Whitby website.
