A community service project that will show some love to Oshawa Creek will soon be held, and organizers are hoping for a big turnout.
Residents of Whitby are invited to be among the group that takes on the task of cleaning this body of water, and all assistance will be appreciated.
The creek, which runs through Oshawa, has become quite polluted over the years, but with some help from the public, this can be turned around. Those who choose to attend the clean-up are welcome to bring along their own e-waste so it can be disposed of properly, and those who do will have their name included in a raffle draw.
Organziers have asked that attendees wear long pants and waterproof boots. They should also bring along water to drink as well as sunscreen and a sun hat, bug repellent and a positive attitude. Gloves and garbage Bags will be supplied, and snacks will be served.
A grassroots environmental project like this can be both fun and rewarding for those who take part, and it call also encourage participants to get to know one another and build new friendships.
