Event seeking donation of gently-used hockey gear

Whitby residents have been asked to lend a hand to an event that can help to make sure every child or adult who wants to play hockey has a chance to take to the ice.

It has been organized by the Rotary Club of Ajax, and will benefit those living in northern communities. The organization has held this event for the past three years, and since it was such a success, the decision was made to bring it back for 2020. Equipment for any age and gender will be appreciated, and all sizes are needed.

The organizers are asking for donations of gently-used equipment, including skates, pads and helmets. The Rotary Room in the main branch of the Ajax Public Library will be serving as the drop-off point, and donations can be made between 12pm and 4pm.

This sort of event can give gently-used equipment a new lease on life, and it also helps to make sure that everyone has a chance to have fun and get some exercise playing hockey, regardless of their means. Flyers can be posted in locations throughout the community to aid in promoting events like this, and a flyer printing company can be a great source for these publications.

The Rotary Club of Ajax will be holding its equipment drive for northern communities on January 4th. All support for this initiative will be welcome.
