Walk of Fame Festival to honor Canadian excellence in Toronto

The 4th annual Walk of Fame Festival is taking place in Toronto over three days in September.

This year, eight accomplished Canadians will be inducted to the walkway, which is located along King Street and Wellington Street.

Canada's Walk of Fame was established in 1998 and encourages members of the public to nominate someone to be honored, providing they meet the criteria; the person has to have been born in Canada, they must have been working in their field for at least 10 years, and they should have shown excellence either nationally or internationally.

Those who are being inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame this year are Terry Fox, Bob Ezrin, Craig Kielburger, Victor Garber, Oscar Peterson, Christine Sinclair, Marc Kielburger, and Alan Thicke.

The festival has become more than just a naming ceremony, however; it is now one of the city’s major entertainment events. This year, three popular Canadian music stars will be performing at Massey Hall as part of the celebration; they are Burton Cummings, Serena Ryder and Maestro Fresh Wes and Friends. Tickets for the concerts vary in price.

Toronto printing companies have no doubt been busy helping the event’s organizers to prepare. This could include the creation of eye-catching Posters, Postcards, and Flyers to boost publicity.

The Walk of Fame Festival will take place at various venues from September 19-21. More information, including details of the winners’ achievements, can be found by visiting the official website.
