Toronto boasts some extensive conservation lands that are home to many species of feathery friends, and the kids that are on hand for a January workshop will learn how to offer them a tasty snack.
Allen Gardens provides families with programming that teaches them about the natural world. The Feed the Birds instalment of its family drop-in program will provide hands-on on nature stewardship, and it may help the birds make it through the tough winter days.
Everyone who attends will be able to make their own bird feeder, and they will be encouraged to get creative in their design. While they work, they can learn about the birds that take up residence in Allan Gardens in winter. Parents must remain with their child to supervise them at all times, and they can use what they have learned to make even more bird feeders at home. To help fund programming at the venue, a suggested cash donation of $5.00 has been requested, if possible.
Environmental stewardship can start with something as simple as providing wild birds with some food to help them through the winter. Handouts that provide the attendees with more information and tips for supporting local wildlife and other information can be ordered from a brochure printing company.
Allan Gardens Children's Conservatory will be preparing treats for its feathery friends on January 17th. It will start at 11:00 am.
