The Fan Fest and Canadian Videogame Awards is taking place during the first weekend of next month.
The main activities to take place this weekend will be for the fans. There will be video game tournaments, competitions, and demonstrations of eSports. The Canadian Game Zone will introduce homegrown games and the Fan Zone will give fans the opportunity to meet the developers of them. There will also be musical entertainment.
Fans get to choose the award winners for Best Canadian and Best International Game. Some of the games that are nominated are ‘Apotheon’, ‘Assassins Creed Syndicate’, ‘Lost Voyage’, and ‘Lara Croft GO’.
The 6th annual awards presentation will take place on Sunday evening and, as the name suggests, it is for Canadian-made videogames.
The winners to be announced at this Toronto event will no doubt mention the fact that they won an award on their future Packaging, giving their graphic design professionals the chance to redo their original artwork.
The Fan Fest will be held at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (formerly known as Maple Leaf Gardens) on December 5-6. Tickets are $29.40 each day or $39.60 for a weekend pass. The Canadian Videogame Awards will take place on December 6 beginning at 8:00 PM, and tickets cost $16.95 each.
