The Trump International Hotel and Tower Toronto has opened in Toronto. It is classified as Canada’s tallest residential building and it the second largest structure in Toronto, second only to the CN Tower.
The hotel, located in Toronto’s financial district, cost $500 million to build and is 65 stories tall. The hotel offers 261 hotel rooms on 19 levels; each hotel room is owned by an investor and units sell for $967,000. The hotel rooms range from 500 square feet for $395 a night to $20,000 a night for the 4,000 square foot presidential suite. So far, 85% have been sold to investors. The structure also features 118 residential units which sell from $2.3 to $6 million dollars; 60% of the condominiums have sold so far.
In addition, there is a spa, a restaurant called STOCK, which will be opening shortly and will use only organic and seasonal ingredients, and a ballroom. There are 250 security cameras throughout and a hidden secret entrance.
Local businesses can only prosper due to this and several other luxury hotels that have opened in Toronto. It will allow those who can afford it to stay downtown rather than further out.
