The Toronto Zoo will be teaming up with Parks Canada to help celebrate Canada Day 2016.
In order to mark this national holiday, the zoo will be placing special emphasis on animal species that can be found within the Canadian provinces and territories. It will also be celebrating the national park system where many of them can be found.
Visitors to the institution are invited to stop by the Parks Canada Kiosk in the front courtyard and pick up a Parks Canada Xplorers booklet. They can then move on to the Canadian Domain and Tundra Trek exhibits, which showcase the animals that call these ecosystems home. While doing so, the public can complete their booklet, which can be returned to the Parks Canada kiosk in order to receive a specially designed souvenir from the organization. Booklet printing companies can provide both the Booklets and the customized souvenir items for events such as this.
Those who would like to learn more about some of the country’s native species can do so by attending the polar bear, otter and grizzly bear feedings and talks, which will be presented by some of the zoo’s animal keepers.
The Canada Day celebration will take place on July 1 from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. Further details and a schedule of daily zoo events can be found on its website.
