Known for creating anime movies such as The Wind Rises, My Neighbour Totoro and Howl’s Moving Castle, Studio Ghibli is one of Japan's most popular animation houses, and its works will be the focus of an upcoming event in Toronto.
The family-friendly Ghibli Holiday Market has been planned for all ages, and it will provide a chance to purchase everything from stocking stuffers to large gifts. The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre will be the venue for the occasion, and it will be open to the public for two days.
The plans for the weekend includes an assortment of ways to enjoy interactive fun. A cosplay competition is in the works, and scavenger hunts, mini games and a stamp rally have all been planned as well. There will be merchandise booths to explore, and many of these will feature works crafted by local artisans. Ghibli-inspired food may be purchased on site too.
To give each attendee the experience they are hoping for, both VIP and general admission options have been made available. VIP passes for an activity often include special perks, including swag such as promotional Pens, lanyards and other custom items. Due to high demand, tickets for the gathering must be reserved ahead of time.
The Ghibli Holiday Market will be welcoming anime fans on December 21st and 22nd. The venue is located at 6 Sakura Way.
