Toronto ranks high in top cities list

The 2014 Mercer Quality of Living Rankings has recently been released and Toronto has placed third in the list for Canadian cities.

Mercer evaluates 460 cities worldwide based on 39 factors. These factors include the political and social environment, the economic health of the city, medical facilities, public transportation and services, school, housing, the natural environment and socio-cultural factors. The aim of the list is to help multinational corporations decide if they want to set up an office in that city and also gives them a benchmark for how much they will pay those employees.

The top city overall in the world was Vienna, Austria and the top Canadian city was Vancouver. Toronto came in 15th in the world.

Information such as this is also good for city planners who are trying to attract new business to an area. It also gives those currently living there pride in their city and encourages them to keep working to improve their ranking in next year's list.

The fact that the city ranked so high in this list can be included in literature that aims to convince people and businesses to move to Toronto in the near future. Local Stationery printers are often asked to provide materials like Flyers, Brochures and Booklets to help market a city. These items can then be distributed all over the world.
