Toronto invited to pop in for special skate

Another Toronto Comicon will soon be underway for local pop culture fans, and a new activity has been added to the agenda for this year.

Nathan Phillips Square will be the location for the first ever Toronto Cosplay Skate, which will be part of the larger Comicon event. Music from television, movies and other popular culture will provide a backdrop for the skaters, and wearing costumes is highly encouraged, so long as they are safe to wear while on the ice.

The activity will begin at 2pm, and an assortment of prizes will be awarded. There is no admission fee for the skate, and it can be a fun way to meet new friends who are also pop culture fans.

The organizers of the afternoon noted that they will have a booth set up for the skaters to stop by when they visit the rink, and they can try their luck at winning some branded merchandise and other Corporate Gifts. There will also be a photo booth with a Harry Potter theme for the use of skaters, and the proceeds from this portion of the occasion will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Fan Expo Canada has invited all pop culture fans to lace up their skates and enjoy this local activity. It will be open to the public starting at 2pm on March 8th.
