Toronto’s rivers give the public an opportunity to enjoy nature right in their own backyards, and as part of an upcoming celebration, residents will be treated to a day on the Rouge in support of Wildlands League.
This will be the fifth year for Paddle the Rouge, and it will see canoeists taking to the water right in the heart of the city. There will also be two sessions of Learn to Paddle, and boats will be available to rent.
The first paddling instruction clinic will begin ta 9:00 am, and the second at 11:00 am. Lunch will be served, and the Open Paddle is scheduled for the afternoon. Those who attend the occasion will be able to guide their craft along the river and explore the urban wild space. A free shuttle service will be provided to the event from the Rouge Hill GO station.
The planners noted that they are looking for volunteers who would be interested in helping out. Anyone who would like to do so has been asked to contact niamh@wildlandsleague.org. Promotional Products such as T-Shirts, hats, and other clothing for a special occasion like this can be sourced from a printer in the local area.
This opportunity to enjoy a day of canoeing in Toronto will be offered to the public on June 16. It will be taking place in Rouge Beach Park, and everyone is invited to celebrate the city’s wild side.
