African violets and other members of the gesneriad family are common houseplants, and a Toronto show and sale will give connoisseurs of these species lots to explore.
The Toronto African Violet and Gesneriad Society (TAVGS) will soon host its 2022 Spring Show and Sale, which will be filled with a chance to learn, buy plants and meet other hobbyists. The theme for this year is “Flowers Coast to Coast”, and the Floral Hall at the Toronto Botanical Garden will be the location for the activity.
The planners of the two-day celebration have noted that there will be two different shows on offer, with one focused on violets, and the other on gesneriads. Society members are welcome to submit an entry for judging, and sales tables may be available for booking for those who wish to sell plant-related materials or plants themselves. In total, 20 percent of sales from these will be donated to the TAVGS.
Flower and plant shows give home horticulturalists a chance to learn and showcase their skills. Ribbons and certificates for the winners in a plant competition can be crafted by a printing services company.
The TAVGS 2022 Spring Show and Sale will be running from April 9th and 10th. Further details are available on the society’s website for anyone who would like to find out more.
