Toronto event to explore STEM careers for women

A Toronto conference that has been planned for early this fall will celebrate the increasing role women are playing across the country when it comes to science, technology, engineering and math fields.

The symposium will bring together women from all across the country who will be sharing best practices, as well as ideas for how to encourage more women to choose a career in a STEM or a related field. There will be presentations by guest speakers, who will each give a 15-minute talk about their area of expertise, and there will also be lots of time for the delegates to network with one another. According to the organizers, 125 people are expected to attend the event, and it is open to everyone from female students who are considering a STEM career, to those who are already working in one. Men will also be most welcome.

Those who attend the function will have an opportunity to have their name entered in a prize draw for an assortment of gifts. The ticket price beings at $47 each, and students who participate and who show their student ID when they arrive will be able to receive a discounted student price. Promotional Pens and other materials can be prepared to give out as swag during a function like this.

The conference will be held on October 14, starting at 10:00 am. It will take place at 200-2 Toronto Street, and more information can be found on its Facebook listing.
