Orchids come in all shapes, sizes and colours, whether they are a common grocery store phalaenopsis, a rare type or native species such as lady’s slippers, and an upcoming Toronto event will put these flowers front and centre.
The Southern Ontario Orchid Society hosts an assortment of activities, and one of these will be open to the general public. The annual Orchid Show and Sale will bring some floral beauty to mid-February, and it will include an early bird shopper hour that is limited to just 100 attendees.
Along with the opportunity to shop for plants and indoor gardening products, the function will provide lots of photo opportunities. While the general public has been asked to limit themselves to handheld cameras, photographers may be given permission to set up a tripod during a special session.
As well as the opportunity to view, admire and photograph orchids, the show will offer lots of opportunities to learn about these plants. It is estimated that at least 30,000 blooms will be on display, and the market area will feature plants as well as gifts and supplies. A tea room will be set up as well, and it will be serving light refreshments. Promotional Products are often distributed at events like this one.
The Southern Ontario Orchid Society has scheduled its annual show and sale for February 10th and 11th. It will be on offer at the Toronto Botanical Garden.
