Toronto celebrates 149th birthday of Canada

There are several events and festivals taking place in Toronto this Canada Day. One of the most popular will probably be the 10th annual Canada Day Celebration at Yonge Dundas Square.

The festival is hosted by the Community Folk Art Council of Toronto (CFAC) and the Downtown Toronto BIA. It will be celebrating the multiculturalism of the city and will feature dance and musical performances. Those who will be performing at the festival beginning at 1:30 PM are the Kecskemet Folk Dance Ensemble, Evelyn Koop Gymnastics, Hawaiian Pacific Dance, White Eagle Polish Dance, the Academy of Serbian Dance and the Sassoun Dance Ensemble.

Arts and crafts vendors will be selling various handmade items such as jewelry and food vendors will be offering a variety of international foods. Visual arts representing the cultural mosaic of the city will also be on display.

For the second year, those in attendance are also invited to take part in creating a Living Canadian Flag.

Toronto banner printing firms often help provide events such as this with Banners that draw attention to certain areas or vendors.

The Canada Day Celebration will be held at Yonge Dundas Square on July 1 from 12:00 to 9:00 PM. Admission is free of charge. To find out more about planned activities, contact the Community Folk Art Council of Toronto at 416-986-5310.
