The Greater Toronto Area is home to several garden clubs and horticultural societies, and a selection of these organizations will be on hand for an upcoming event that will celebrate Seedy Saturday.
Seedy Saturday encourages gardeners to become a part of the seed-saving movement, and the Toronto Botanical Garden, which is located at 777 Lawrence Avenue East, will be showcasing the practice with its open house day. At least 25 garden and seed-related vendors have already added their names to the list of businesses that will be setting up shop, and many not-for-profits have been invited to participate as well.
While admission to the function will be free, a suggested donation of $2.00 will be appreciated. There will be garden demonstrations and chats, a free ask-the-experts advice clinic, and a pop-up shop. For the kids, there will be nature-based play activities, and they can have their faces painted. A seed swap table will be set up, and both heirloom and open pollinated seeds are welcome.
Special events like this one may call for decor that is just as unique, and Print shops will be happy to help. They can provide banner printing and other services.
The Toronto Botanical Garden’s Get the Jump on Spring and Seedy Saturday event will take place on Saturday, March 2nd. Additional information for interested vendors and the general public alike is available on the Garden’s official website.
