Rogers Cup to bring tennis champions to Toronto

Tennis fans in Toronto will have the chance to see their favourite players in the flesh next month, when the Rogers Cup comes to the area.

In total, 72 of the world’s top 75 players are expected to take part in this year's tournament, including Victoria Azarenka, Marion Bartoli, Novak Djokovic, and Serena Williams.

The Rogers Legends Cup will also bring back some of the stars of yesteryear, such as Pete Sampras, John McEnroe, and Andy Roddick. In addition, Billie Jean King will be inducted into the Rogers Cup Hall of Fame in a center court ceremony.

There will be plenty of activities going on around the courts, including free family fun in the form of scavenger hunts, tennis clinics, and a variety of life entertainment. The opening night will feature a doubles exhibition match with Serena and Venus Williams playing Monica Sales and Eugenie Bouchard.

The games will take place at the Rexall Center from August 3 - 11. Tickets for individual events start at $20.
