Ontario’s maritime enthusiasts are gearing up for a week of fun next month, with the Toronto International Boat Show set to take place in the area.
A special preview reception will be held on the night before the show begins, and guests have a chance to get early access to the show, enjoy food and drinks, and take part in silent and live auctions. Proceeds from the reception go to several Toronto children's charities, including the Toronto Star Fresh Air Fund and CNIB's Lake Joe Camp.
The show itself will feature the latest in boats of all sizes for sale, as well as a range of boating accessories. An indoor lake will be the setting for a number of canoe and kayak seminars, with demonstrations and performances by Duma the wakeboarding dog also on offer. There will also be 140 free educational sessions covering everything from boat handling to personal experience stories.
Local businesses will likely be donating items for the auctions. When they do, many Toronto companies want to advertise the fact they have donated. They can do this by working with local printing companies to create products such as Flyers to be distributed to their customers.
The Toronto International Boat Show is taking place at the Direct Energy Center from January 11-19. Admission is $15 in advance or $18 at the door for adults and $12 for seniors or $15 at the door. The preview event will be held on January 10. Tickets are $50 for adults and $30 for children aged 6-16. For more information, call 905-951-0009.
