OPIA Toronto Golf Classic set for August 11

The OPIA Toronto Golf Classic will be held at Angus Glen Golf Club on August 11 from 11:30am. The summer is a time when networking takes a more recreational turn with barbecues and golf tournaments, rather than meeting indoors. Members of the Ontario Printing and Imaging Association who attend the golf tournament will still be bringing along their Business Cards to distribute.

The OPIA Toronto Golf Classic costs $225 for members and their guests and $275 for non-members; the price includes lunch, a golf cart, golf and dinner. There is limited space so those interested are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. There will be lots of chances for those attending to do some “light” networking.

The Ontario Printing and Imaging Association is a non-profit industry association for the graphics communications industry. The overall purpose of the OPIA is to

“promote the health and success of the industry.”

Services to members include networking events, a Print referral service and technical advice. The OPIA has 7 committees that ensure the smooth running of the association and quality services for members:

• Events – plans network events for members
• Government Affairs – meets with government officials to discuss the future of the industry
• Environmental Health and Safety – ensures that members have the most up-to-date information
• Human Resources – keeps members up-to-date on the latest training programs
• Membership – looks into new services for members
• Communications – internal and external communications
• Strategic Planning – looks at the future of the organization
