The 2011 Marketing and the Law conference will take place on December 6 at the Velma Rogers Theatre in Toronto. It is presented by the Association of Canadian Advertisers and Marketing (ACA) and McMillan LLP. Tickets are $399 for ACA members and $499 for non-members.
It is important that marketers pay attention to changes in the privacy laws. What information a marketer could have used and passed onto others is constantly being lessened. Those who hire printing companies in Toronto to help them create marketing products have to be aware of these changes. While it is important to collect data and information about customers, there are strict controls. Ignoring these Print related privacy laws could damage your chances of business success permanently.
The theme of 2011 Marketing and the Law is the “legal implications of interest-based advertising.” There will be several government and business speakers at the conference who will share their experiences. The line-up of the conference is:
• Keynote Address - Jennifer Stoddart, the Federal Privacy Commissioner will discuss the status of current privacy legislation
• Privacy in an Interconnected World: What are the Limits? – David Young, McMillan LLP
• Lead Speaker – Lisa Campbell, Competition Bureau will discuss current issues the Bureau is studying
• An Abundance of Caution: Living with the New Realities – James Musgrove conducts a panel
• Lead Speaker – Andrea Rosen – Chief Compliance & Enforcement Officer, CRTC talks about anti-spam legislation
• CRTC Panel – TV and all Things Video – moderated by Bob Reaume
• Summary Panel – Where to from Here? – moderated by Tom Gierasimczuk
There will also be a networking break in the morning and a buffet lunch will be served.
