The 8th annual Women and Leadership Conference will take place at the Novotel Toronto Central Hotel from June 4-6. The full conference, workshops and CD-ROM costs $2995, the conference plus one workshop costs $2520, the conference plus the CD-ROM costs $2125, the conference itself is $1975 or a CD-ROM of the proceedings is $499. It is recommended that professional women and those in management who wish to strengthen their leadership skills attend this conference.
The conference will consist of two workshops, lunches, and presentations from top-ranking professional women, some of whom are on the Women Executive Network’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada list. The conference is broken down into four topics of discussion will be “Women and their war stories,” “Strategies to achieve success as a woman,” “Qualities that distinguish women” and “Women at their best.” The workshops, or coaching clinics, will be interactive sessions which will cover such topics as relationship building, managing conflict and professional and personal development. One of the luncheons during the festival will feature the presentation of the Federated Press Woman Leader of the Year award.
Women often feel they have a more difficult time moving up in the business world. Conferences such as this provide strategies and best practices from women who have been there and have worked hard to get where they are now. There will be several networking breaks for the women in attendance. Arranging for extra business card printing in advance of the conference will ensure they have enough to pass around to everyone they meet.
