Starting a new business can seem overwhelming at times; you don’t know where to turn for help and you constantly worry if you can actually get it off the ground. Fortunately, there are lots of organizations that will help you. One of those organizations is the Toronto Business Development Centre (TBDC).
The TBDC holds a Start a Business Seminar series every month. This series is a total of four seminars held each Tuesday from 6:30-9:30 at 1 Yonge St. The seminar series costs $50 in advance and $60 at the door. This is a certificate series and it also includes a one-on-one consultation with a TBDC business advisor. The next series will begin on February 7.
As stated, the series features four seminars. Those seminars are: Starting a Business: the Essentials which will also help you to create your company profile; Business Research: Will your Ideas Work? which concentrates on effective research and how to identify your market; Marketing: How to Get and Keep Customers will help you to develop effective marketing and customer service, this will also give you advice on things such as flyer printing for direct mailings to your Toronto customers and adding marketing to your business plan; and Tax and Cash Flow: Ensure your Business is Profitable which will help you to prepare a tax flow forecast.
These seminars should give you all the basics you need to start your business off on the right foot. It will also allow you to meet your peers to start developing your business network and referral list.
